For high-powered applications, EXEDY offers twin and triple Multi-Plate clutches. These are designed for high power street action as well as drag and track racing. The twin plate clutches are rated for approximately 590 ft/lbs of torque at the flywheel.
All EXEDY Hyper Multi-Plate clutches come with a lightweight, chromoly steel flywheel and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. Surprisingly, even with it’s additional power capability, most multi-plate clutches exhibit light pedal pressure thanks to a half-engaged “zone” provided by the patented clutch “cushion” function.
The Exedy clutch kits are known worldwide for their quality. Despite being a twin disc design they offer a near o.e pedal feel and keep the pull type mechanism of the R154 gearbox.
These twin disc setups replace the clutch and flywheel as a complete package.
When purchasing these twin plate clutches we also recommend replacing the clutch release bearing and the flywheel bolts with Arp versions as the O.e bolts are single use.
