Tomei Powered Inc Japan

With the recent new Jz products coming from our friends at Tomei in Japan we thought we would give them a bit of a spotlight in the blog section.

This artisan company has been producing high quality items since it's formation back in 1968, june 19th to be precise and since it's inception has racked up quite the client list in the world of motorsport. Nissan Motorsports International Ltd , Kaaz Corporation and Takama Competition Product to name just a few.

Tomei have always been early to the table, 1971 saw the adoption of a 500bhp dyno (high horsepower for the time), a computer system for the parts devision in 1978, 1988 saw a 800 bhp dyno so the could look after the Mugen's F3000 Le Mans race car and in 1999 was the launch of a full complete Tomei engine. While more milestones exist and equally as important for Tomei for the times these mentioned achievements are something to be very proud of!

During 2006 Tomei Japan created a California, Usa based sub company to make supply across the pond easier however what started out as a fruitful endevour sadly headed south with the two entities parting ways.

For a while given that production rights were still in place Tomei Powered Usa were still able to sell joint products. Over the years these rights diminished first of all with all poroducts marked 'T' in the part number. However from March 2019 both companies severed ties and are completely separate from each other despite the similar names and logos.

Even after all these years many are not aware of the difference or the previous history in thinking they are one and the same but Tomei Japan have used the time to further their facilities and keep the high standard of product expected of the brand.

Tomei Japan only uses high quality components and machinery, they even profile their cams in house and have done ever since 2015. Over time and expansion their services have grown, with a recent addition they now offer complete built 2JZ bottom ends assembled in their temperature controlled engine room for very high performance and competition use.

Now in their 57th year Tomei Japan are not only refining existing products but creating brand new products for our Toyota powered cars and we've had several informative discussions with them regards even more upcoming products arriving in the not so distant future so watch this space.
